Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) reportedly posted a job ad on employment network LinkedIn which discloses the company seeks to add a senior engineer to work on new mobile devices and software, but they are not Windows Phones. It’s for the core of Android, Linux.
The ad confirms that Nokia (NOK) is preparing for a tentative, exploratory move into Android area. Gizmodo report claims it says the new employee would have to work in a “start-up environment” and develop “exciting new products” for future “mobile phone technology” in accordance with the phone maker’s plan.
Nokia was alleged to be preparing its own Linux-based OS, called Meltemi, but that’s thought to have been chopped as part of the Finnish phone maker’s latest round of cost-reducing.
